Since its formation in 1989 the company has made six “money-with-management” investments.   Under this concept, we have invested financially in the equity shares of new or start-up companies and, usually through joining the Board, provided strategic and management support.

Companies invested in this way were:

TISSUETEC (now TISSUEMED), a manufacturer of surgical sealant films

KINWALL, a property management company

LUCKETT AND CO, a Public Relations, Sales Promotion and Marketing agency

MURRAY MALTBY, a full-service Advertising Agency

BKW PUBLIC RELATIONS LTD, a PR agency

ENGINEERED ASSISTANCE LTD, a developer of medical mobility products

With one exception (Kinwall), these investments were all successful.   Our investments in four of them have been sold and one (Engineered Assistance Ltd) continues to operate successfully.   Our relatively small investment now represents just 1.0% of that company’s share capital.

The company’s other investment activity is represented by two residential properties in York.   They are both tenanted and produce a regular income stream.   These properties have a combined value of £516,000 and carry a mortgage of £70,000.   The company is also the owner of all copyright and other intellectual property of http://www.theswitzerlandalternative.com.
