The company was established in 1989 with the principal aim of providing consultancy services in the field of urban generation.   In the 1990s John Watson worked as the Chief Executive of Bradford City Challenge Ltd, Chairman of Bradford Business Link Ltd, President of the Bradford Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Chairman of the Yorkshire Building Society and a Board Director of several Johnson Fry subsidiaries.

In the early part of the 21st century the company switched most of its resources to its investments.   These were represented by several Business Angel type projects and by two buy-to-let residential properties.
